  • Session Description: Tim Mayle, Director, will present on the formation, mission, and driving purpose behind the Center for Advanced Manufacturing and Logistics (CAML). The CAML was recently formed as a collaborative partnership of Bowling Green State University, The University of Findlay, and Owens Community College to prepare the region for the growing workforce needs in the manufacturing and logistics sectors. Mayle will share with attendees the development and implementation of the organization and educate on ways local businesses and HR representatives can partner with and benefit from the CAML’s efforts.

    Speaker bio: Tim Mayle began working as the Executive Director of the Center for Advanced Manufacturing and Logistics in November 2022. Prior Tim was the Director of Economic Development in Findlay from November of 2016 thru October 2022 and was Assistant Director from April of 2011. Tim is a 2004 graduate of Ohio University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Geographic Information Systems. Prior to joining the Alliance Tim worked for the Hardin County Commissioners for seven years.

    He is the former President of the North Central Campus for Emerging Technologies and Findlay Young Professionals, board member of the United Way of Hancock County, American Cancer Society Volunteer Leadership and Small Business Resource Center. Tim is past chairman of Raise the Bar of Hancock County (Workforce), Secretary of Blanchard River Watershed Solutions and is the past President of the Ohio Economic Development Association and serves on the Findlay Energy Special Improvement District and Findlay Design Review District. Tim was appointed to the Regional Economic Development Alliance Study developed by the Ohio Senate and House of Representatives to identify best practices in Economic Development in 2018. In 2021 Governor DeWine appointed Tim to serve on the Ohio Department of Transportation’s Transportation Review Advisory Council. Tim was awarded the 20 under 40 award, which recognizes community leaders in Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan in 2013.

    Under Tim’s leadership Findlay Hancock County was recognized as the #1 Micropolitan in the United States based on capital investment, new construction and job creation for eight consecutive years by Site Selection Magazine. Tim is married and has a boy (17) and a girl (14).

  • Session Description: Pam Hamlin, Director of Millstream Career Center, will speak about how local businesses and HR leaders can partner with the students and faculty of MCC. Millstream serves Hancock, Allen, Hardin, Putnam, Seneca, Wood, and Wyandot county students through 15 programs and single period courses preparing them to enter post-secondary education or enter directly into the workforce. Through her presentation, Pam will address how local business and HR professionals can partner with and support the learning happening at MCC as well as events and opportunities for companies to meet MCS students and consider them for hire. Additionally, Pam will discuss services available at MCC (such as catering) available to the local public that allow students to gain real-life experiences and offer new services to the business communities.

    Speaker bio: Pam Hamlin has worked in education for 30 years and currently serves as the Director of Millstream Career Center. This school serves 15 school districts and covers 5 counties. She has a passion for helping students be career ready once they graduate. She received her BA and MA from the University of Findlay and has sat on many non-profit boards in our community. Currently she is on the executive board for Raise the Bar and is part of the Kiwanis Club. She also is beginning her board role at the Hope House. Pam sits on the Hancock Business Advisory Council and enjoys helping link business and industry with education. Pam and her husband Tim have 4 children and 7 grandchildren and they own Trends on Main in downtown Findlay.

  • Session Description: In organizations of various sizes, HR professionals often find themselves in need of marketing and PR skills to navigate the daily demands of human resources, most specifically in the areas of recruitment and retention where messaging is so important to talent strategies. Meg Adams brings her wide breadth of experience in journalism, education, and marketing strategies to her daily work through her media production company, Homeplace Creative, where they work with a variety of businesses to identify, craft, and tell their story in a way that engages and connects. Join us as Meg breaks down some marketing basics (specifically geared toward HR professionals) and share some ways she’s worked with local businesses to use storytelling as an effective recruitment & retention tool.

    Speaker bio: Megan (Meg) Adams, PhD, is founder and CEO of Homeplace Creative. Upon receiving her PhD in Rhetoric & Writing from Bowling Green State University with an emphasis in digital storytelling, Dr. Adams founded Homeplace Creative as a media production company devoted to helping organizations tell impactful stories across media platforms. Her own stories have appeared in news outlets and peer-reviewed academic journals in rhetoric and writing. Dr. Adams also teaches as an Associate Professor of Communications at The University of Findlay.
